I was cruising the Cars and Bids website looking at good deals and came across a Porsche Cayenne with a bunch of miles. But it had very good service records with it. It was eight minutes before the auction ended and I increased the high bid to $5,500, thinking it would go up in the last couple of minutes.
It didn't. My bid grasped the win. I was surprised. Then I needed to pay for my new Porsche Cayenne that I didn't discuss with my wife previously.
My wife and I had discussed other cars on the Cars and Bids site, I hadn't told her I was bidding on this one.
She was surprised but not pissed so I'm good.
I emailed the dealer who listed the auction so I could get information for payment. We exchanged a few emails and I decided to pay to have the Cayenne shipped instead of flying one way and driving 20 hours home between Christmas and New Years.
The next afternoon after work I went to my bank to wire the funds to the dealer I bought it from and learned my bank charges $20 to wire money.
The dealer hired a Transporter and it was picked up on a Friday and arrived Monday. Now the challenge how to get it off the trailer. It didn't start. This was something I didn't know when I bid on the auction that the battery was toast.
The Transporter had a portable battery pack and jumped the Cayenne to get it off the trailer.
